Typical dishes from Bullas reflect the geographical, climate and cultural features of the area. The long term isolation of these lands, marked by valleys where vineyards are combined with other cultivations of the Mediterranean fields (cereals, almond and olive trees...) has given a strong personality to the local gastronomy.
There is a wide variety of traditional dishes such as ajoharina (with potato and garlic), empedrao (rice with kidney beans peppers and cod), arroz con conejo (rice with rabbit), migas (fried flour-crumbs) and patatas en llanda (roast potatoes). Among the appetizers and salads we have the rin ran (with potatoes and cod) minchirones (boiled beans) and pimpirrana (a tomato, tuna fish, boiled egg and black olives salad), and for dessertes, the unique torrijas de Bullas (a local variety of a small cake).
